Established in 1992 as Korea Nuclear Energy Agency (KNEA), the agency
would work on improving public understanding of nuclear power.
In November 2017, acceding to the requests of the National Assembly and
civil societies, the agency changed its name, vision, mission and projects
to broaden its field to energy in general.
The change in KEIA is occuring not only to meet the demand of the Korean
society but it is also to follow the world trend. Energy used to be subjects of
disputes in the international society due to unequal distribution of energy
resources, the limit of its reserves and its impact on the world economy
which had been enormous. However, the topography of the world economy
surrounding energy is changing as renewable energy technologies
is advancing as a solution to climate change.
KEIA will try to help the Korean society overcome the challenges its facing
by providing information and a place for public participation while the world
surrounding energy issues is undergoing changes.
Please show us a lot of support.
Sincerely, KEIA
